Vintage Seymour L. Shuren Modern Carved Alabaster "Mother and Child" Abstract Figure Sculpture. "Seymour L. Shuren was a prominent 20th-century American modernist stone carver active in the New York metropolitan area. He specialized in unique, hand-carved abstract figures utilizing natural materials like translucent alabaster, soapstone, and marble. His signature style is defined by elongated fluid profiles and sweeping vertical drapery that accents the stone's organic texture. His fine art sculptures were exhibited in curated regional spaces, including solo features at the Piermont Flywheel Gallery." Approx 40 lbs. Circa Late 20th Century. Measurements: 15" H x 9.5" W x 8" D.
