Antique French Renaissance Bacchanal Scene Silver Plated Bacchus Figural Platter Tray. Item features ornate cast frieze border of Bacchus, female mask heads, and classical mythological figures on stylized dolphin form legs. Tray further features a pierced border and Shield and Crest central engraving which reads "Gwell marw na chywilydd" which we believe is a Welsh phrase that translates to "Better death than dishonour". Circa Late 19th Century. Measurements: 3.25" H x 28" W x 13.5" D.
Condition: One handle slightly turned upwards more than the other. Very good antique condition being structurally sound with age appropriate signs of normal use as pictured. Overall very nice. Please review all images as they are considered part of the item description.
