Antique Large Framed Tapestry Textile (Needlepoint and Petit point) "Catherine of Aragon and Cardinal Wolsey" referenced by Shakespeare, King Henry VIII, Act 3, Scene 1. The woven tapestry displays remarkable detail and scale and is further detailed with a truly impressive large deep silver/gold giltwood gesso frame with thick glass facing. The overall piece weighs approx 210 lbs. Circa Late 19th Century.
Measurements: 68" H x 64" W x 7" D. Glass center: 53" H x 49" W
Condition: Minor paper residue behind glass and other small fragments. Minor losses to frame and areas of silvering wear to glass. Very good antique condition being structurally sound with age appropriate signs of normal use as pictured. Overall very nice.
